Here are all four of them together, just a few weeks old. They're just starting to get some real feathers coming in. Clockwise from top left corner, we have Curious, Sleepy, Roo, and Chipmunk.
Sleepy is so named because she was always found hunched up on the roosting bar, sleeping. Last fall she had a run-in, we think it was a hawk. Her wing was damaged, and she was pretty freaked out. We managed to bring her inside and bandage up the wing. She got a very striking bandage wrap!
Sleepy has been healing very nicely, and the bandage came off a while ago. Here is a picture from today.
Please allow me to introduce Chipmunk. Chipmunk earned her name from the very chipmunk-esque striping that was on her back. They are now not at all visible, and I later discovered this a very normal pattern on chicks.
And now we introduce Curious. This bird had her nose in EV-ERY-THING. She was the first to try to fly, the first to try jumping out of the bin, and the first to investigate the window (which was thankfully shut)
And finally, my dear Roo. When they were going through adolescense, we were concerened they might turn out to be a rooster. We wouldn't have been able to keep a rooster, and I was getting rather attached to them.
This short video is when the four of them were just a few weeks old!
